After a long, LONG week of therapy, screenings, and classes, I was SO ready for Saturday. Love my Grove family, love PERFECT football weather, and... as alway... love the Grove food. One of these weekends, I'll remember to take a picture of our tents and the food tables... Yesterday we had several SIU fans stop by and tell us how impressed they were with our setup! They loved our red and blue swagged curtains (that Beth irons every Friday night to make sure they are perfect), our floral arrangement, and our food! They were so surprised that nothing was "store bought." We had everything from shrimp remoulade to kahlua cake! While I take NO credit for this, I am proud to be a part!
ETA: I am so excited that my brother is coming to the Georgia game and will get to meet my Memphians and experience all of this with me!
Journal Entry (just so I can remember): Last week was my first week of therapy. I had good sessions, but I am still a little unsure of what I'm doing. I feel lost. But, so does everyone else in this program. I think once I meet with my supervisors this week and they really help me figure out a plan and structure for my sessions, I will feel MUCH better. I am nervous about one particular client. I REALLY feel lost when it comes to him. The other clients are going to be easy and fun to work with. I have already fallen in love with my sweet three year old at the clinic.
Another busy, stressful week lies ahead. Lots of classwork, lots of therapy, lots of late nights...
I am loving graduate school, but it is so overwhelming. I just keep telling myself that it will all be worth it. One day someone will ask me what I do for a living and I will get to say "Oh. I'm a speech pathologist!" and THAT moment will be incredible.
