This weekend we decided to get out of Oxford. I VERY much needed a break, and E is always up for a trip!
We decided to escape to Nashville.
First, we went to Antique Archaeology. I'm not sure if any of you are into this show "American Pickers" on the History chanel, but we are... so we decided to make a stop to their store.
Basically this show is about two men, Mike and Frank, who go around the country "picking".

Description from historychanel.com
"This isn't your grandmother's antiquing. Pickers like Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz are on a mission to recycle America, even if it means diving into countless piles of grimy junk or getting chased off a gun-wielding homeowner's land. Hitting back roads from coast to coast, the two men earn a living by restoring forgotten relics to their former glory, transforming one person's trash into another's treasure. American Pickers follows them as they scour the country for hidden gems in junkyards, basements, garages and barns, meeting quirky characters and hearing their amazing stories. If you think the antique business is all about upscale boutiques and buttoned-up dealers, this show may change your mind--and teach you a thing or two about American history along the way."
We had a great time looking through the old warehouse full of things Mike and Frank have "picked"!
If you have seen the show, surely you remember *this* episode... This is the Piggly Wiggly head from A LONG time ago.
We spent the rest of Saturday at the Mall at Green Hills. I didn't buy anything, but I enjoyed the window shopping. The Tory Burch and the Nordstrom opened Saturday, so it was extremely crowded. For dinner we headed downtown. Downtown Nashville reminded me of Beale... except with country music. The riverwalk is nice and there's lots of entertainment. We had dinner, and then left. Unfortunately, Taylor Swift was in town that night doing a concert. There were far too many pre-teens in sundresses and cowboy boots for my liking...
We ended up at the Cheesecake Factory for dessert...
Sunday we went to see the Titans play! It felt so great to actually go to a winning football game. This was my first NFL game, and contrary to my boyfriend, I actually like it more than college ball. The entire day was a show, fly-0vers, fireworks, 9/11 tributes... I loved it.

School. School. School.
