The first week of Spring 2012 is in full swing! I hit the ground running Monday and have not slowed down since. I quickly realized that last semester was basically an "intro" to grad school. I am already overwhelmed with more projects, paperwork, clinic responsibilities, and homework than last semester.
I think I am going to enjoy my caseload this semester. I got to keep one of my sweet clients from last semester, and I am excited to work with her again. I also got one new client who is an adult who stutters. Adult & stuttering- two new challenges for me.
The rest of my time will be spent in Pontotoc! Yay! I will be "working" at Sunshine nursing home on Mondays and Wednesdays. I am excited to work with the geriatric population and look forward to learning how to do new kinds of therapy. Most of all, I am excited that it will allow me to be at home more. More time with my parents and grandparents is always appreciated. :-)
I also will be working this semester as a teaching assistant. I am a TA to our staff audiologist Dr. Anne Williams. I will assist with her clinic as well as the two undergraduate classes she teaches... grading papers and projects, keeping attendance, etc...
It should be a busy, stressful, fun semester!
Oh and the Couch to 5K is still going strong! It is hard to make myself come home and then go run at the end of the day when I so badly just want to sleep. But so far I am staying on track. I must thank the boyfriend for helping me stay motivated and always offering to go with me!
That's all for now!
Amy
