Blessed

Yikes! I haven't blogged in so long!

Let's see what's been going on:

I enjoyed a wonderful break from summer school/clinic two weeks ago. I had originally planned a beach trip with my friend Claire, but at the last minute I backed out with the lame excuse that "It just doesn't feel right.  I just can't get excited about it." ...and then two days later my jeep (aka Lady Liberty)  started acting funny. Long story short, I had to take it to the mechanic and have a whole bunch of work done. While I missed going with my friend, it was such a blessing that I stayed here and saved money so I would be able to fix my car!

School started back this week, but Regional Rehab was closed all week for July 4th, so I had no clinic. I am missing my clinicals! I'm so sad that I only have TWO weeks left to go there. I am considering talking to my supervisor and asking if I can switch my spring placement (North Mississippi Medical Center) to Regional to Rehab... or maybe I could do half and half? We'll see. I just feel like my time would be so much better spent at RR. I really don't plan to work in a hospital, but I DO hope to find a job in early intervention. As always though, my prayer is for God's will. I never planned on going to Regional Rehab, but it just worked out that way and it has been such a blessing.

Wednesday was the Fourth of July. My friend Whitney and I dragged Evan to Memphis.

We ate BBQ at the Neely's place: (Also Food Network Related)

Went to Mud Island (and stayed for like .2 seconds before we quickly realized that we were out of our element ...
(I hate Evan's sunglasses)

And ended up at the Peabody! (where we were still out of our element but it was a lot nicer. Haha. I LOVE the Pebody, but I'm pretty sure I couldn't even afford half of a hotel room there.

We watched fireworks from the rooftop and had a great time.
(I would have added more pics but I had "demon eyes" in all of them... darn camera flash...

And last night I had a great dinner with my family at Woody's in Tupelo. We hadn't been in a LONG time and wanted to see how the restaurant looked now since Robert Irvine came in with his Food Network show Restaurant Impossible and completely redid it. Everything looked so nice and the food was delicious! Evan was able to come too which made the night even more special. There is nothing that makes me happy than when my family is all together. Nothing. Hands down. After dinner we came back to my parent's house in Pontotoc and started watching a new show that Will likes called "Suits." As I sat around my house with my parents, sister and brother-in-law, my brother and Evan I couldn't help but notice just how full my heart was. Nights like last night are truly what makes me happy. I am so blessed.
