Weekend in Athens!

We had a great weekend supporting our Rebels in Athens!

After a six hour drive on Friday we arrived in Athens about 11:00 PM (10:00 PM our time). We were tired, but didn't want to waste our weekend sleeping!

Evan, Will, Ashley, and I  headed downtown with Aaron. He showed us all around downtown, and we found a few really neat places. Downtown Athens has such an eclectic atmosphere. There are ALL kinds of people and ALL kinds of restaurants/bars.

We spent some time at the Georgia Theater. They had a nice rooftop where you could sit and look out over Athens.

love Instagram...

view from the rooftop!
Saturday we headed to UGA's campus around noon. UGA has a HUGE campus, and I'm pretty sure I walked more Saturday than I have in my entire life.

We tailgated with Aaron's brother and his girlfriend/friends for a little while. Their tailgating was nice, but it certainly wasn't Ole Miss tailgating. ;-)

Will and Aaron

cookie cake! We need to make this happen in Oxford!
The game kicked off at 3:30. We enjoyed the first half of the game... but the second half was rather disappointing. We ended up leaving at the fourth quarter to makes the miles long trek back to the car.

After the game we went to dinner at a nice Italian restaurant. Evan had clams and spaghetti (he claims it was good...), and I had vegetable lasagna. It was delicious. After dinner we went back to Aaron's house and watched the end of the LSU/Alabama game. We were exhausted and went to bed early.

Sunday morning we slept in and then went to lunch downtown. We went to a place called Momma Goldberg's. I have heard Evan rave about this place so many times, so I'm so glad I got to try it! It was just as good as he had described.

(ignore my shopping list Evan was using as a bookmark)

And Monday was back to work/school...  BUT Monday night we did go to the men's basketball exhibition game. I love basketball season!

This is my FINAL week at Lafayette! One step closer to graduating!
