L-O-V-E

1. I am loving that I made an A on my Transitions to Democracy paper. Writing papers for political science classes is never enjoyable, but over the past two years I have learned to incorporate phrases like “peaceful transitions of power” and to prattle on for at least a paragraph about the importance of education …professors eat that stuff up. And I get an A. I will never know why I chose political science as a minor, and I’ve pretty much regretted it everyday since, except for one reason…

2. His name is Evan. Had it not been for Pol 251, we never would have met. (By the way, if you ever want to know the real story of the day we met, be sure and ask me and not Evan. He doesn’t remember it correctly. I totally walked up, introduced myself, asked if I could sit next to him, and struck up conversation…all me.)

Monday we celebrated our second Valentine’s Day together. As explained before, he was in charge of planning the day. And might I add, it was ridiculously hard for me to let go and not plan anything. We all know what a “control freak” I am. Haha. Anyway, after I got off of work, Evan and I spent the day together. We went to the park and enjoyed the beautiful weather outside. That night, he cooked an amazing dinner for me! Evan is the one of us who has actual skill in the kitchen. No burned crescent rolls for him! We had a red velvet cake for dessert (my favorite), and then spent the night watching movies. It was a perfect Valentine’s Day, and I can’t think of a better person I could have shared it with…

UNFORTUNATELY, the pictures from Valentine's Day have gone missing. I have deleted them from my camera, but can't find where I uploaded them to iPhoto. :-(

I’m loving that I got to meet Michael Oher at Square Books yesterday! Stay tuned for my blog about his book “I Beat the Odds”. I am already loving this man’s genuine desire to help other children “beat the odds.” I’ve pretty much highlighted every other sentence in his book.

And lastly, I am loving that Friday is the film festival. Will’s film was chosen to be shown and we can’t wait to go and support him in Starkville. My dear friend Blake and I did a ballet to a song called “Melt Me” by a local artist. If you haven’t seen the video, I HIGHLY recommend you view it… click HERE to see it...
